Is our online ordering system compatible with Mac, PC, Mobile, ipad and other tablets?

Yes, it can be accessed through any web browser. It is compatible with PC Windows, Mac, Mobile & Tablet platforms. We offer the perfect solution for our tech-savvy clients on the run, whilst also catering for those not quite up to date with technology with our friendly and easy-to-use online ordering system.

Are prices for cutting only or does the cabinet come assembled?

When creating a new job, you have the ability to select if you want it to ‘include Assembly cost’. If you select this option, then your products will come assembled. If you do not select this option, then the price of your order will not include your products being constructed – this is the cheapest way for you to order products.

Assembly + Installation

If all my products are packed together, how do I tell which parts are for which products?

Each part is easily identified by a handy label. On the label will show the name of the part, and the number which corresponds to the specific cabinet that part is used in. Each individual part will feature an easily identifiable product label, showing the name of the part and the number which corresponds to the specific cabinet that part is for.

We recommend unpacking your project and group all of the parts for each individual cabinet together. If you don’t have a rack, simply stack all your parts for each cabinet in a pile, or lean them gently against a wall.

Will I have to cut anything on my products once they are delivered?

Most of the time there will be no cutting required once delivered. However, in all of our templates we have added Applied (end) panels at 10mm oversized, so that they can be trimmed to suit any variances that may arise from uneven walls. We have also added in kickboards at around 50mm oversized, so these can easily be cut to create a perfectly finished kicker.

Do I need to be trade qualified to assemble a Smart Cut kitchen?

No, some basic wood working skills would be beneficial but not required. Always use a qualified trade professional for all plumbing and electrical work that is required.

How can I be sure that my product will fit in my room?

By correctly measuring your space and ensuring that you double check you have entered the correct specifications in when ordering your products. Additionally, by using void gaps ensures that there is a little more wiggle room when installing your cabinets.

Do I need Factory or Tools to assemble these cabinets?

Building a kitchen is not for someone who has absolutely zero experience with any type of building tools. While building a Smart Cut kitchen doesn’t require a suite of tradies tools, it does require a little knowledge and experience about how to operate a few basic tools.

How do I attach my kickboards under my cabinets?

There are a couple of ways that you can do this, but we recommend for your kickboards to be drilled vertically through the top of the bottom panel of your cabinet.

Follow these steps to install your kickboard:

  1. Place your kickboard underneath your cabinets, flush up against the legs.
  2. Measure from the front of the cabinet carcase edge to the kickboard.
  3. Add half the thickness of your kickboard material to the above measurement to get your drilling distance. (E.g if your kickboard is 16.5mm thick, you will be adding 8.25mm to the above measurement)
  4. Mark this measurement along a line on the cabinet’s bottom panel.
  5. Remove the kickboard and drill pilot holes for the screws using the line marked out in the previous step. (Drilling two holes per cabinet should be sufficient)
  6. Reinsert the kickboard and screw it into place.

Cabinet Specifications

Am I limited to pre-set cabinet sizes?

You are only limited by your imagination! You are free to have any size cabinet you wish, making the planning and design of your kitchen an easier process. There are a few ‘buts’ however – you are limited to your product being the size of a sheet of board – which is usually 1200mm x 2400mm, and some products have a minimum width and depth, but typically the Smart Cut system is very flexible.

Is a cut list produced from the online ordering system?

No, once you have entered your job information and selected your products, your order is simply downloaded and processed through the software. It is as easy and as quick as that!

Can I have coloured cabinet carcasses?

Our product images identify what part of the cabinet will be coloured.

Anywhere that is white/grey will be supplied with 16.5mm moisture resistant melamine white carcase material.

Any part of the cabinet image that is coloured will be supplied in the colour that you have selected. This is listed on your project overview as the ‘Door/Drawer colour’ and can also be changed by editing each product.

Unfortunately our cabinets with doors do not come with any colour but white. Some cabinet carcases can be ordered in your specified colours, but only those products whose images are completely displayed in the colour you selected.

What materials are the doors made from?

Our cabinet doors are made using high quality melamine boards available in a wide range of Polytec and Laminex finishes ranging from 16.5mm to 18.5mm in thickness.

Delivery + Packaging

How are my products packaged?

To cut the costs for you, Smart Cut do not pack your products individually in cardboard boxes. Instead, your products will all be packed conveniently onto a pallet and wrapped up. Not only does this save time, but also saves unnecessary material being used.

This is a great thing for you, because it means you get your products quicker and at a lower cost, leaving more $$$ in your pocket to go towards the luxuries like soft close hinges, higher quality drawer runners or that appliance you have always wanted.

How much will delivery cost?

Smart Cut has fixed delivery costs for incremental distances from our factory location in Ballarat, Victoria. Because there are so many variables, the best way to see how much your project is going to cost to get delivered is to sign up, log in and start a project.

What is the timeframe for my order?

As a general guide, most orders have a lead time of 10-15 business days. This is dependent on the complexity and size of your order.

Can I pick up my project from Smart Cut’s factory?

Sure! The best way to save even more money on your project is to arrange Pick-up with us. All projects are available to be picked up from us for free, or alternatively you can select the Pick-up option if you wish to arrange your own courier service.
